Sizes run by the boy's age, and boys grow between the order and the occasion — so we tell every customer the same thing: go one size up. It won't look oversized, and it will still fit next December.

Sizes — 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 16, 18 (sized by age)

Colour — Black

Fabric — 100% rayon, made in Hawaii

Label — RJC

Matching print — girls' smocked dress in the same print

How This Fits

Boy's sizes here reflect age rather than measured chest, so a size 8 is cut for an average eight-year-old. They are not small for what they are — but after years of selling boys' shirts we still recommend the next size up whenever you're on the fence. Rayon hangs softer and closer than cotton, so a little extra room reads as a relaxed aloha cut rather than a hand-me-down. If your son is tall for his age, size up without hesitating. Call us if you're stuck between two.

Wear It For

Christmas morning, holiday church services, family portraits, winter cruises and the December luau where everyone else is in a red sweater. It also carries a boy through a beach wedding rehearsal dinner without looking like he's in costume.

Coordinating Pieces

The Monstera Christmas Leaf Girls Smocked dress uses the identical print, so brother and sister photograph as a set.
