They buy it for the 6am drive up Haleakalā, for the boat ride back when the wind picks up, and for the plane home when the cabin is freezing. This one is unisex, so couples share it, and the tribal shark pulls straight from the Polynesian tattoo tradition rather than a flower print — which is why it gets worn on the mainland long after the trip is over.

Size — Small

Colour — Kauai/Black

Fit — unisex pullover, no zip

Pocket — large kangaroo pocket across the front

Sleeves — long

Fabric — cotton blend

Label — RJC, screen printed in Honolulu

How This Fits

Unisex sizing, which in practice means it is cut on a men's block. Women who want a relaxed, slouchy hoodie will find the Small sits right; women who want it fitted should know there is no shaping through the waist. Men with a slim frame — roughly a 36–38" chest — are the ones the Small suits. Sleeves are long and the body is a straight pullover shape, so it layers over a t-shirt without pulling across the shoulders. If you're between sizes on a hoodie you plan to wear over another shirt, you'll want the roomier option every time.

Wear It For

Sunrise at the summit, whale-watch mornings, air-conditioned restaurants, and the flight home. It also works as an everyday hoodie back on the mainland — the tribal shark reads as graphic design, not vacation souvenir, so it doesn't look out of place at a gym or a football game.

Care

Cold wash, tumble dry low. A cotton blend will move a little on a hot cycle and screen printing lasts longer if you turn it inside out before washing.

Why Shop MauiShirts?

28 years of Hawaiian clothing from our Maui showroom — since 1998

We tell you how a unisex cut actually fits, on a man and on a woman

Deep in Polynesian tribal and tattoo prints, not just florals

Free shipping to anywhere in the USA and its territories — no minimum order.
