About MauiShirts

MauiShirts.com · Est. 1998

We've been mailing aloha off this island for 28 years.

One family, one showroom in Wailuku, and the largest stock of made-in-Hawaii aloha wear on Maui — picked, packed, and shipped by the same small crew who answer the phone.

Who we are MauiShirts.com is a family-owned aloha wear retailer based in Wailuku, Maui, selling made-in-Hawaii shirts, dresses, and matching family sets since 1998. We hold the largest walk-in inventory of aloha wear on the island, work directly with the manufacturers who cut and sew it in Honolulu, and ship anywhere in the world — free, no minimum, to every U.S. address.

How a shirt shop in Wailuku ends up in your closet

We opened our doors in 1998 with one idea: if you can't get to Hawaii, Hawaii should be able to get to you. Not a costume-shop version of it either — the real thing, cut and sewn by the same Honolulu manufacturers who've been making aloha wear for generations.

That's still the whole business. We're not a print-on-demand operation and we don't drop-ship. We keep the largest walk-in inventory of made-in-Hawaii family aloha clothing on Maui, in a real showroom you can visit, and every order that leaves our door ships from this island — not a warehouse in another state wearing a Hawaiian name.

Made in Hawaii isn't a label here. It's who supplies us.

Our relationships with Honolulu's clothing manufacturers go back decades, which means faster turnaround and steadier inventory than a retailer starting from scratch. A number of our prints and styles — across Paradise Found, R.J. Clancey, and Shannon Marie — are ones we own outright. You won't find them anywhere else, online or off.

Here's what's usually on the racks:

Paradise Found R.J. Clancey HIC — Hawaiian Island Creations Bamboo Cay Two Palms Pacific Legend Kalaheo Shannon Marie Puanani Cubavera Rugged Shark Teva

We also outfit restaurants and hotels — on the mainland, internationally, and right here at home — with matching aloha shirt and dress uniforms. If your team needs to look the part, that's a conversation, not a catalog order.

Inside the showroom — every print organized on the rack in the same order we use to fill your online order.

Our showroom sits at 66 Wailani Street, Wailuku, HI 96793. We're a small crew running a large online business out of it, so we're not set up for walk-in retail — but if you want to try something on before you buy, an appointment gets you the whole showroom, reserved just for you, with no one else browsing at the same time.

Day Showroom hours
Mon – Thu 11:00 am – 4:00 pm
Friday 10:00 am – 1:00 pm

Sunday Closed

Also closed New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

Two small asks if you come in. Everything is hung in the exact order we use to fill online orders, so if you pull a shirt off the rack and it's not the one, please set it on the restock rack rather than re-hanging it yourself — it keeps the whole system working for the next customer and the next order. And since we handle a lot of garments other people will later try on, we ask that you skip the perfume, cologne, and heavy sunscreen on your visit. Mahalo for your kōkua.

A tiki stands watch over the shop

Inside 66 Wailani Street is a hand-carved image of Kūkaʻilimoku, the war god King Kamehameha I credited with helping unite the Hawaiian Islands into one kingdom. It was carved from acacia koa (monkey pod) over six months by TikiMaster in Kailua, and blessed on site by Reverend Kahuna Earl Kukahiko on March 4, 2008. At 68 inches tall and roughly 200 pounds, it's not decoration — it's a piece of the place this business is actually from.

The people who pack your box

Most days, we're processing orders, pulling and packing them, and getting them to the post office — often within an hour of the order coming in. There's no fulfillment center here, just people who've been doing this since 1998.

Aloha print isn't a costume. It's how a Friday at the office, a wedding, or a grandmother's house dress all get to look like they belong to the same island.

Common questions

Is MauiShirts.com actually based in Hawaii?

Yes. We're headquartered in Wailuku, Maui, with a showroom at 66 Wailani Street, and every order ships from this island.

Can I try clothes on before I buy?

Yes, by appointment. Email jz@mauishirts.com to set up a time — the showroom is reserved just for you and your party (up to 4 people) while you're there.

Is everything really made in Hawaii?

Our aloha wear — the shirts, dresses, and matching family sets — is made in Hawaii by manufacturers we've worked with directly for years. Some accessory brands we carry, like Teva and Rugged Shark, are not.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. Domestic U.S. shipping is free; international rates and transit times are on our Shipping & Returns page.

How do I reach a real person?

Email jz@mauishirts.com — that's our showroom manager, JZ, not a ticket queue.
