Privacy Policy
We're a family clothing store on Maui, not a data company. Here's exactly what we collect, why we need it, and how to tell us to stop.
The short version We collect what we need to take your order and get it to your door — your name, address, email, and what you bought. We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the companies that help us run the store, like our payment processor and the postal service. You can ask us to show you your data or delete it at any time.
This policy covers mauishirts.com, operated by MAUISHIRTS.COM, INC. It explains how we handle personal information when you visit the site, place an order, or get in touch with us.
What we collect

We never see your card number. Payment details go directly to our payment processor and are handled under their security standards. They aren't stored on our systems.
How we use it
- To fill your order — packing it, shipping it, and telling you it's on the way.
- To help you when you write to us about sizing, a return, or an order that hasn't turned up.
- To run the store — preventing fraud, keeping the site working, and meeting our tax and accounting obligations.
- To send email you asked for. We only email marketing to people who opted in, and every message has an unsubscribe link.
We don't use your information to make automated decisions about you, and we don't build advertising profiles from your purchase history.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information, and we don't trade or rent customer lists. We share only what's needed, only with companies that help us operate:
- Our ecommerce platform (Shopify), which hosts the store and processes orders.
- Payment processors, to take payment and check for fraud.
- Shipping carriers — USPS and FedEx — who need your address to deliver the package.
- Our email provider, to send order notices and any newsletter you signed up for.
- Law enforcement or regulators, if we're legally required to respond to a valid request.
These companies may only use your information to do the job we hired them for.
Cookies
Cookies are small files your browser stores. We use them to keep your cart from emptying as you move between pages, to remember you're signed in, and to understand which pages people find useful.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block the essential ones, the cart and checkout won't work — that's a limitation of how carts function, not a choice we made.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- Show you the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct anything that's wrong.
- Delete it, unless we're required to keep records of a sale.
- Stop emailing you — unsubscribe from any message, or just write and ask.
If you're in California, the CCPA and CPRA give you these rights explicitly, including the right to know what we've collected and to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information. We don't sell it, so there's nothing to opt out of — but you can still exercise the rest. If you're in the UK or the European Economic Area, the UK GDPR and GDPR give you the same rights plus data portability and the right to object to certain processing.

How long we keep it
Order records are kept as long as we need them for accounting, tax and warranty purposes. Marketing contacts are kept until you unsubscribe. Ask us to delete your information and we will, apart from records we're legally obliged to retain.
Children
We sell clothing for children, but the store is meant for adults to buy from. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us their information, write to us and we'll delete it.
Where your information goes
We operate from Hawaii, and our service providers are primarily in the United States. If you order from outside the US, your information is transferred here and handled under US law.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and change the date at the bottom. Material changes will be noted at the top of the page.
Common Questions
Do you sell my information?
No. We don't sell, rent or trade customer information to anyone. It's shared only with the companies that help us take payment, send email, and deliver your package.
Do you store my credit card number?
No. Payment details go straight to our payment processor and never touch our systems. We can see that an order was paid, not how.
How do I stop getting emails?
Click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any marketing email, or write to jz@MauiShirts.com and we'll take you off the list. You'll still get order and shipping notices for purchases you've made.
How do I get a copy of my data, or have it deleted?
Email jz@MauiShirts.com from the address you ordered with, and tell us what you'd like. We'll reply within 30 days.
Do you use tracking or advertising cookies?
We use cookies that keep your cart and checkout working and help us see which pages are useful. You can block cookies in your browser, though the cart won't function without the essential ones.
